AppTracking Transparency begins April 26th

Apple has released an update following their Spring Event stating that their AppTracking Transparency requirements will go into effect on April 26th. The final countdown has thus begun.

First announced last June, the changes have prompted a backlash from advertisers. However, Apple will finally begin requiring the consent prompting early next week in alignment with the updated Guidelines released last September. Apps further have to comply with the privacy disclosure which went into effect in December.

Those who own apps, or run advertising on apps will have a number of steps to comply with ahead of the change. Failure to do so may result in the app submission being rejected, or risk being delisted from the AppStore until compliance is achieved.

Apple also took this as an opportunity to remind developers that they can not fingerprint in their apps in an attempt to identify users.
